My name is Rafaela Gonçalves, and you're entering the world of Half N Rafa Productions.

Why “Half N Rafa Productions”?
What started as a joke about the pronunciation of my nickname became a reality. In Portuguese, the "R" in "Rafa" is pronounced like the American "H," which leads to "Hafa" or "Half-a." This playful twist inspired me when I discovered my passion for collaborating with incredibly talented individuals and filmmakers. My goal is to bring my projects to life with their help while also supporting their creative visions.

ABOUT RAFAELA

Rafaela Gonçalves is a trilingual actress and producer who grew up in Brazil, exploring all facets of her performing self: acting, singing, playing musical instruments, and dancing in shows she created for her family and friends. It was no surprise that after high school, she decided to move to the U.S. to officially pursue an acting career. After gaining acceptance into several schools, Rafaela chose to attend AMDA (Los Angeles), where she earned her BFA in Performing Arts with honors.

During her college years, she not only honed her performing skills but also developed her writing and filmmaking abilities. This journey led her to obtain an MFA in Producing, allowing her to create stories as well as act in them. While pursuing her MFA, Rafaela wrote, produced, directed, acted in, and edited over 20 projects, including short films, music videos, and feature films.

Currently, she has two projects in post-production, including “If The Shoe Fits,” a short film that is being showcased at film festivals, and a proof-of-concept short film for her first original feature, based on her first published novel at the age of 15. Rafaela recently co-produced and served as the First Assistant Director for "Blow for Blow," collaborating with prominent figures such as Rigan Machado (in his directorial debut) and Paulo Costa (in his acting debut), while also acting in the film.

At present, Rafaela is working on two additional feature films: Rigan Machado’s next project and another with Marco Felipe Rossi that is confirmed to be shot in Brazil at the beginning of 2026. She is also one of two Executive Producers at Green Carnation Films, an international film company based in Brazil that focuses on telling queer stories in multiple languages in innovative ways.

Rafaela's productions aim to showcase diverse talent, deconstruct stereotypes, and tell stories about self-discovery and life transitions. Her philosophy centers on giving her all and collaborating with like-minded filmmakers who share her passion. Her overarching personal goal is to improve Brazilian (and Latina) representation on screen and to open doors for international talent.
